Weekly Vibe: Archangel Azrael on Grief

Archangel Azrael on Embracing Transformation

Recently, we received some terrible news of a very serious car accident and although we don't personally know the young man who was hurt, we were compelled to support him through a GoFundMe set up by his family.

Because of this, each day, we get an update and in a sense, are witnessing him coming back from the literal brink of death and realizing the years of healing he has before him.  Years, multiple surgeries, all parts of his body have been affected - his teeth were even knocked out.  This has been on my mind so much and in speaking about it with my children, the concept of how events in life can change your entire trajectory has been on our minds.  This man is 18 years old, was most likely preparing for his first year in college and when a drunk driver hit him at 70 mph, he survived.  He will never be the same and his path is radically altered, for the rest of his life.

I do realize this is an extreme example of course, but the idea of transformation and grief is a shared human concept that every single person on the planet has or will experience.  We will all suffer loss in some form or another and this binds each of us together on the soul level.  Loss happens in small and big ways, and it's not simply about death.  Any change in circumstances can create a void and this activates different levels of grief - the trick is to learn to live with grief as a testament to the love you have for your journey.

When I asked my team for the weekly vibe and  #13, Archangel Azrael, RELEASE turned up, I knew immediately the messages that needed to be shared.  In the realm of numerology, the number 13 is often misunderstood—yet it holds one of the most profound and sacred energies of all. Represented by Archangel Azrael, this card symbolizes release, transformation, and the divine alchemy of change. Far from being ominous, it offers a gentle yet powerful reminder that every ending is also a beginning.

Archangel Azrael: The Angel of Comfort

Archangel Azrael is often called the "Angel of Death," but not in a fearsome sense. His true role is to be a comforter during times of grief and transition, helping souls and the living alike to navigate the tender moments of loss, whether that be the passing of a loved one or the closing of a chapter in life. His energy is quiet, compassionate, and deeply healing.

The Deeper Meaning of Number 13

In angelic tarot, number 13 doesn't bring misfortune—it brings awakening. It marks a threshold moment, a passage through which you are invited to shed the old and step into a new way of being. Under Azrael's guidance, this transformation is not chaotic but sacred.

You may be grieving the loss of a person, a relationship, a dream, or a former identity. Azrael whispers: “What you release makes space for what your soul truly needs.” Grief, in this context, is not something to avoid. It is a divine teacher, showing us the depth of our love and the reality that life is in constant motion.

Transformation Through Grief

Grief softens the boundaries between what was and what will be. In its raw honesty, grief allows you to see what no longer serves and helps you align with your highest truth. Azrael encourages us to feel fully, to honor the loss, and then to trust that transformation is not just possible—it is your soul's promise.

Through this sacred process, you’re not just surviving change—you’re becoming someone new. More resilient. More awake. More aligned.

A New Way of Existing

With Azrael’s support, the 13 card becomes a portal. You may find yourself called to new spiritual practices, deeper emotional healing, or a more compassionate view of the world. You may also feel a greater connection to those who have passed, realizing they are never truly gone—just transformed.

This is the essence of Archangel Azrael's presence: the quiet knowing that love is eternal, and the soul is always evolving.

Affirmation: “I release the past with love and step into the light of divine transformation.”

You are not alone. Azrael walks with you.

In infinite gratitude,

dani
