Spring Equinox 2016
Rituals for Expansion & Renewal
The vernal equinox signals the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and it happens this Sunday, March 20th. It marks that special moment when the sun crosses the celestial equator going from south to north. At the equinox, Earth’s two hemispheres are receiving the sun’s rays equally. Night and day are approximately equal in length.
The energies of this time period are ones of renewal, of balance and of new and harmonious frequencies. We are moving out of a period of cold and dark where we went within to find ourselves and into a period of light and expansion, to put into practice all those nuggets of abundance we found while journeying inside.
Our intentions for ourselves are actions that unify the entire Earth vibration into a peace vibe that is evolving all things simultaneously into As Above, So Below.
The New Earth is found within us. Through our awareness and our practice of aligning with our inner core of light and limitless abundance.
Here are some ways to honor all that is, the collective harmony of life that you are an integral part of, using the elements of water, air, earth and fire to connect with our divine center.
1) Honor the Earth by planting something you can eat. Creating the energetic circuit of nurturing and caring for a plant that provides food for you is a sacred relationship that we have with Mother Earth.
2) Honor the element of Fire by hosting your first bonfire of the season! There’s nothing like the smell of a bonfire and losing yourself in it’s magic. No place to burn? No problem! Use your fireplace or your favorite candle and lose yourself in a gazing meditation of the flame.
3) Honor the element of Air, that which literally gives us life, by going outside and having a picnic or dining al fresco. There’s no better way to be present with this element than to share a moment in life affirming activity.
4) Honor the element of Water by visiting the closest body of water! I live near the Columbia River and I know that when I’m walking along its shores, the majestic power just overwhelms me! No body of water nearby? No problem! Create an altar with a bowl of water and some flowers and crystals.
